Rib to Body Increases
Once you have completed 11 rounds of rib, you are ready to work the
increase round of rib before starting the body.
pattern directions read as follows:
Rib-to-Body
Inc Round
Work 7
[inc 1 in
next st, work 6, inc 1 in next
st, work 7]
1x.
[inc 1 in
next st, work 7] 6x
to first
marker. Repeat sequence to
end.
In English, read as Work K2 P2 for 7 sts. You are now on a purl stitch.
and need to work an increase in the purl stitch. However, do not
remove the stitch from the left needle when finishing the stitch.
The stitch looks split. Half on the left needle, half on the right.
1:Insert the needle as
if to purl, draw the yarn over and dip the needle out. However, do not
remove the stitch from the left needle.
2:The stitch looks split.
Half on the left needle, half on the right.
3: Pass the yarn to
the back.

4:
Insert the needle in the back of the stitch on the left
hand needle and draw the yarn over. Complete the stitch. You now have
two stitches out of one on the right needle.
To complete the
instructions, work 6 stitches after the increase in the pattern,
increase in the next stitch. Work 7 stitches after the increase.
[Increase in the next stitch, work 7 stitches after the increase.]
Repeat the section in brackets 5 more times. 6 times total.
If you need to increase in a knit stitch, the only thing that changes
is that you start the increase by inserting the needle as if to knit.
You will now be at the marker. Repeat the whole process until you
reach the end/beginning of the round marker.
The rib is completed.
