Stitch & Motif Maker files are bitmap files. I do not use the .bmp extension to avoid confusion. However, for those of you who are more than novice computer users, you can change the extension to .bmp and open your motifs in other Windows programs.
Please be sure to do this on a second copy of your file, as you will no longer be able to open it in Stitch & Motif Maker.
For safety sake, I recommend exporting to MS Paint and saving in the graphic file format of choice.
